Welcome
Welcome on the genealogic website of the Herrewynen family. My name is Cees (Cornelis) Herrewynen. I was born on the 18th of January 1948 in The Hague, The Netherlands. I'm baptized on June 24, 1951 in the Juliana church in The Hague, and I'm the son of Cornelis Herrewynen (1908 – 2004) and Adriana Brand (1915 – 2005). My grandfather's name was Dirk Arie Herrewynen and my great-grandfather's name Cornelis Herrewynen. They established themselves around 1895 in The Hague. They are coming from the village Zuidland on the island Voorne-Putten in the province Zuid-Holland.
I worked for good 40 years at the Government authorities in The Hague and on April 2005 I left my job and become an early pensioner. Not withstand my several hobby´s, where I can fill my spare time with, I decided to find out more about my family. Many years I am trying on internet to find out more about my ancestors, but couldn´t find a lot. Until I received through "Genlias Database" a stream of details about the family Herrewynen. Not withstanding that I am still a short time busy with the genealogy have I received a lot of information about the family Herwynen/Herrewynen. Between 1790 – 1810 the name Herrewynen became into existence and has not changed since. Although Gerrit Herrewynen (1852 – 1919) went to the Registrar Office and called his new born son Leendert "Van Herrewynen". Leendert died at an early age (32 years old) and his son became just 1 year old. His daughter Jannetje married Pieter Mol. That's why the name "Van Herrewynen" has discontinued. In the meantime I collected a lot of details about the family and like to share more information with people whom are related with the Herrewynen family. That's why this website. On this site the following details are mentioned:
If there are any mistakes on the website I ask you to draw my attention to it. As well I am open for any suggestions and supplements for the website. To make a good genealogical resume about the family Herrewynen can only succeed with your help! Your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be thankful to you perhaps in the future. The genealogical survey is the result of information collected from various archives, genealogical associations, literature and websites.
